Event Summary
Prof. Sergio Delgado
Romance Languages and Literature, Harvard University
The Global Studies Center is conducting (in cooperation with the Humanities Center) a faculty development seminar focusing on the theme of mirgration. This seminar is part of our ongoing Humanizing the Global, Globalizing the Human initiative. The purpose of this seminar is to bring colleagues from the humanities and the social sciences (as well as cognate professional schools) together for a series of lectures and workshops in which they will jointly explore questions that highlight the urgency of thinking globally about the humanities and humanistically about globalization.
These public lectures are open to a wide, interdisciplinary audience composed of faculty, graduate students and undergraduates, as well as interested parties from outside the university. If you are interested in joining the seminar, please send a brief note and a cv to Veronica Dristas, Associate Director of the Global Studies Center by 1 November 2017. (We ask that seminar participants not miss more than one of the four sessions.) Past participants are also welcome to apply.
Throught the year, we bring internationally-renowned scholars to campus to speak to our theme from their own (inter)disciplinary perspectives. In addition, each will lead a workshop with faculty participants of the seminar the following Friday morning (from 9-11am; coffee and pastries provided!)
Each of our four guest lecturers will present their public seminar on a Thursday afternoon at 4:30pm, in the Humanities Center (601 CL). For further information about previous lectures in the Humanizing the Global, Globalizing the Human series, click here.
