Event Summary
This is the first event of our Spring Term event series ‘Passages. Translation and the Mediation of Time and Space’.
Pittsburgh author and translator William Guy offers a brief review of some of the previous attempts to solve this problem, followed by a discussion of his translation and poetic practice, in particular on his effort to capture the rhythmic component of the poem. His remarks will be followed by a reading from his version of the Iliad.
